Navratri Special: The Vaastu way to worship Goddess Durga

The nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped during Navratri. Hindus all over, worship Goddess Durga and her nine forms in different ways.
People place the idol of Goddess Durga and ghat (pot) during this period. They light the ‘akhand jot’ (diya that burns for nine days) during this time. The best way to worship Durga has been described by Vaastu Shastra, this will help you to fulfil all your wishes.
Here is how Vaastu tells you to do the puja:
1. Ishan kon (north-east) is considered as the direction of Gods. This is the best place keep Goddess durga’s idol in this direction.
2. If you are lighting ‘akhand jot’ before the idol then keep it in the ‘agnaye kon’ (south-east).
3. Keeping the ‘ghat’ on a sandalwood table is considered the best.

4. Make sure you face east or north while performing the puja.
5. If there is a ‘tand’ around the puja place, make sure you clean up that area. Make sure there is no dirty clothes lying around the puja area.

6. Some people change the flag during Navratri. Make sure the flag is hoisted in the ‘vayvav kon’ (north-west).
7. Never place the idol near bathroom or toilet.
8. Leave some place near the puja area to sit.
